A Soldier's Story: Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdams


 Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdams was born on July 3, 1986, in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He was always interested in flying and enlisted in the Army National Guard during high school to earn money to pay for his pilot's license. He completed Warrant Officer training in 2006.

He was assigned to Detachment 53 and deployed to Afghanistan during the War on Terror. On January 10, 2014, while flying a reconnaissance mission near Parwan, Afghanistan, Chief Warrant Officer Andrew McAdam's aircraft crashed, and he was fatally injured.
