A Soldier's Story: US Army Specialist Payton Alexander Jones - War on Terror


Specialist Payton Alexander Jones was born on July 8, 1992, in Fort Smith, Arkansas. His family relocated to Marble Falls, Texas, and he loved to surf, swim, and play football. He graduated from Marble Falls High School in 2010. Following his high school graduation, Specialist Payton Jones enlisted in the US Army and was assigned to the 508th Parachute Infantry. 

He would die during his first deployment on March 1, 2012, from small arms fire during a blue-on-green attack on his post.
